cde's are a great way to join ffa by using knowledge you may already know and knowledge you can learn through being a part of a team. We currently have four cde teams, but we would love to see if we could create more teams if you are interested!
Below is a link to other cde teams recognized at the national level!
The Agronomy contests focus on agricultural crops, seeds, pests, weeds, and diseases and helps prepare students for a career within the Plant Science field.
Students learn to identify engine systems and internal and external engine parts for wheel tractors, crawler tractors, harvest, planting, tillage, and spray equipment. Students operate and troubleshoot tractors, crawlers, and farm machinery. Students are also tested in the area of engine function, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
On the poultry team, you take a written knowledge test, then judge the interior and exterior of eggs, boneless and bone-in further processed meat products, and identify and grade carcass parts. You then have to judge live birds, chicken or turkey carcasses, and give oral reasons for both. Four people complete one team, but more members are always welcome!
If you are interested in joining the poultry team, please contact Mrs. Larson!

on the vet science team, you will take multiple tests over different categories like General knowledge, Breed and parasite id, and tool Id. you will also compete with practicums, such as filling a syringe for injection or the proper restraint of a rabbit. One complete team involves four members, but if they have enough, there could have two teams. Fun Fact: you get to wear scrubs for the competitions.
